 From the buyer
This wine delivers a benchmark Anderson Valley flavor profile at a price point that is simply unbeatable. Over-delivering on value has always been at the core of the Anonymous Wine Collective, and I'm certain this wine does that and then some. I'm thrilled with the end result of this bottling that I was able to compose from barrel samples dialing in the exact character I wanted to capture from this top quality vintage and great but (top secret) vineyard source.
The wine is loaded with pure forest berry fruit, dusty, earthy spices, brambles, Redwood grove, and alpine herbs. Elegant and silky, but full of flavor and layered nuance. For $20 I challenge you to find a more complete bottle of Pinot Noir that delivers the goods so emphatically! Enjoy!

| Staff reviews — 2023 Anonymous Wine Collective Anderson Valley Pinot Noir |
|
Lacie Schwarz, K&L Staff Member · October 6, 2026 Anderson Valley, to me, is a region finding the mid-point between the earthy, light, more serious side of Pinot Noir and its supple, rich, velvety counter-part. Cranberry, pomegranate and sour cherry jump from the glass in the Anderson Valley Anonymous Pinot Noir. Licorice, truffle and a hint of white pepper and cedar meld into the background. The slight tannin and lively acidity help to form a complex wine with a lingering finish. |

John Downing, K&L Staff Member · October 5, 2026 We tasted this along side of the latest release of our Anonymous Chardonnay from Petaluma Gap and found it just as exciting. it's an elegant and seamless style Pinot with delicious red fruits and spice throughout. Although perfect on it's own, it's a wonderful mid-week dinner wine as well. Try with pork, Asian style dishes and mild cheeses. |

John Majeski, K&L Staff Member · October 4, 2026 With the continuing success of the Anonymous Wine Collective, one would think that we would exhaust our potential for uncovering superb new finds, but under the inspired vision of Ryan Woodhouse and his talented team, the hits keep coming! Anderson Valley has long established itself as a prime region for cool-climate Pinot Noir, and this poised bottle demonstrates precisely why. In its selection of old vine, partial whole cluster fruit shimmering with black cherry, eucalyptus, violets and dark chocolate aromas mirrored in a mouthwatering palate imbued with bright acidity and velvety tannins, this wine delivers a crescendo of flavors at a remarkably attractive price. A fantastic gem! |

Aaron Hughes, K&L Staff Member · October 3, 2026 Gee gosh golly do I love our Anonymous wines! They're all fantastic examples of what they are at a price that can't be beat except by wineries in foreclosure. One time I asked Woodhouse who made this particular wine and he just looked at me and said "Aaron, I would never lie to you" and then just refused to say anything else. Pretty honest if you ask me. At this price, you'd be crazy not to purchase one for your own consumption and perhaps for a gift to be consumed by an acquaintance! |

Matthew Landau Hassan, K&L Staff Member · October 3, 2026 Mystery producer, serious pedigree. The fruit comes mostly from 40-year-old vines on Franciscan sandstone, and it's built from the Pommard, Swan, 667 and 115 clones. It was fermented with native yeasts and 30% whole clusters, then aged 18 months in mostly seasoned French oak. The cool 2023 vintage shows in every sip. Bright red cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry are layered with forest floor, blood orange, and that savory, almost briny Anderson Valley edge. The stems add lift and a little spice, and the tannins are fine-grained with lively acidity. It's drinking beautifully now and should keep improving over the next 5 to 7 years. If you want Burgundian restraint at a California price, start here. Pair it with duck, mushroom risotto, or grilled salmon. |

Philip Roufail, K&L Staff Member · October 2, 2026 The new 2024 Anonymous Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is perfectly timed for the holidays. This is a pure expression of Anderson Valley's cool, coastal climate - full of dark red fruit (cranberry, blackberry, dark strawberry) and savory notes (forest floor, mushroom, pepper, earth), crisp acidity, and a silky, concentrated texture that's ready to take on whatever feast you're planning! |

Lauren Fisher, K&L Staff Member · October 4, 2026 Really nice Pinot that punches way above where you’d expect it to. It’s got plenty of fruit, but there’s also a nice savory side that keeps it interesting. Easy to enjoy on its own, but definitely a bottle I’d be happy to bring to dinner. |
|
Kai Pedreno, K&L Staff Member · October 3, 2026 The new 2023 anonymous pinot has arrived for fall, this time from Anderson valley! full of brambly red fruit, anise and a good bit of menthol on the nose, its followed by bright red fruit on the palate, quite savory despite the ripe fruit with really fine tannin on the end and a good bit of acidity. |
|
Michael Benoit, K&L Staff Member · October 3, 2026 Brambly red fruit, cedar wood, anise, and menthol waft from the glass of this Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. On the palate, ripe berry fruit and savory wild herbs mingle, buoyed by bright acidity. Delicious now, and with definite aging potential, this bottle delivers well above its $20 price tag! |

| K&L Notes |
With this latest Pinot Noir from the Anonymous Wine Collective, we’re pushing value to a whole new level. Since launching Anonymous, the opportunities to bottle incredible wines at mind-blowing prices have gone beyond even my wildest expectations. This wine at $20 is simply ridiculous.
It comes from a mature, organically farmed estate vineyard in the heart of Anderson Valley’s famed "Deep End," the westernmost reaches of the valley where the vines are cooled by a daily influx of coastal air and fog. This unique climate creates Pinot Noir with a wonderful balance of ripe fruit and savory complexity. Warm daytime temperatures build depth and richness, bringing dark berry fruit, exotic spice, and hints of sassafras, while the cool nights preserve vibrant acidity and bring out more nuanced notes of alpine herbs, forest floor, and truffle.
Despite the wine's quite translucent, ruby red hue, there’s real depth, complexity, and sense of place here - qualities you simply don’t expect to find in a $20 Pinot Noir. Once again, the power of keeping the winery name Anonymous delivers massive savings over the typical price point of Pinot Noir from this property. Enjoy! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer) |
