Wine School—Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Flavors
Thursday, September 24th  Primary, secondary, and tertiary. These are the three layers of flavor that every wine contains, and learning to identify them is one of the most useful skills a wine lover can develop. Thursday Wine School tackles that framework this month, using two Sauvignon Blancs and two Pinot Noirs to illustrate how fruit, fermentation, and age each leave their mark on a finished wine.

Friday, September 25th  Few producers tell the story of Serralunga d'Alba as compellingly as Giovanni Rosso. With family roots in the appellation stretching back to the 1890s and some of its most historically significant cru sites in their portfolio, the estate produces Barolo of extraordinary depth and character under the direction of Davide Rosso, who trained in Burgundy before returning to take the reins in 2001. Join us to taste through the full range of what the estate produces, from the whites to the Barolos that have made their name.

Saturday, September 26th  Few wine regions in France offer the range and generosity of the Southern Rhône. Garrigue, wild herbs, sun-baked stone, and ripe Mediterranean fruit run through every glass, from a remarkable value Côtes-du-Rhône to the structured complexity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape from two of the appellation's most respected producers. The Beaucastel Blanc alone is worth the price of admission.
