Mike's Halloween Beer Buzz
Thursday, October 15th ![]() Boo! It's October and some spooky beers have just risen from the graves that Mike Pires tends in his off time. This month’s Beer Buzz is crawling with ghosts, phantoms, and things that do not exist, and every single one of them is delicious. A crisp Pilsner, a pair of hazy IPAs, a West Coast IPA that bites back, and a Fantôme Saison from Belgium that has been haunting drinkers in the best possible way since 1988. Six beers that are no tricks, all treat.
Lineup is subject to change. Walk-ins permitted as capacity allows. Alsace: France's Misunderstood Region
Friday, October 16th ![]() You probably aren't drinking enough Alsace. You should be. Sheltered by the Vosges mountains and blessed with one of the driest climates in France, the region produces white wines of remarkable concentration, complexity, and longevity. Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and a Crémant to open proceedings — this tasting covers the full personality of a region that deserves far more attention than it gets.
Lineup is subject to change. Walk-ins permitted as capacity allows. Bordeaux's Modern Classics
Saturday, October 17th ![]() Bordeaux is a region built on patience, but how do you know when a wine is ready without pulling a cork? This is how you find out. Spanning a decade of modern vintages across the Left and Right Bank, each pour is an opportunity to assess where these wines stand right now, how the younger bottles are developing, whether the older ones are hitting their stride, and what another few years might do for all of them. Come with an open mind and leave with a much better sense of what Bordeaux looks like in real time.
Lineup is subject to change. Walk-ins permitted as capacity allows.
