Blind Tasting: Single Country of Origin
Thursday, August 13th  This month's blind tasting comes with a twist. Every wine in the flight shares the same country of origin, but that's all we're telling you. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to figure out where in the world you are and, if you're feeling confident, the vintage, variety, and subregion for each wine. Two whites, four reds. One wine might give you a hint on the others, or it may throw all of your assumptions into disarray. Come ready to think on your feet and have fun. Lineup is subject to change. Walk-ins permitted as capacity allows. California vs. Burgundy: Blurred Lines
Friday, August 14th  For years the differences between California and Burgundy were easy to spot. Rich and opulent versus restrained and terroir-driven. Modern winemaking, world-class California terroir, and a new generation of producers on both sides have made the lines between the two harder to draw than ever. The question needs to be asked: are the lines still so clear?

Saturday, August 15th  The soils of Chablis are ancient seafloor, and you can taste it. That signature flinty, mineral character that sets Chablis apart from every other expression of Chardonnay comes straight from the fossilized oyster shells buried beneath the vines. This tasting climbs through the full appellation hierarchy, and by the time you reach the Grand Cru, the story those fossils tell will be impossible to ignore.
