First, festively dressed for Valentine’s Day in purple and magenta, one of the most versatile Rhône values on our shelves: the 2023 Domaine de la Ganse Vacqueyras. Made by Coralie Onde, from the winemaking family behind Domaine les Ondines. She started her own project independent of her family estate in 2008 and formed Domaine de la Ganse in Vacqueyras. With close to nine hectares now, the domaine was officially certified in 2014. A blend of Grenache and Syrah, this incredibly charming Vacqueyras is hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented and aged in concrete tanks. Next, the highly recommended Launois "Cuvée Réservée" Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne is 100% estate-grown, made entirely with old Chardonnay selections from Mesnil, Cramant, and Oger. This is our most re-purchased Champagne and rarely stays in stock for long. We’ve worked with Champagne Launois in Le Mesnil for over 16 years, and it remains a staff favorite year after year for good reason. Finally, the critically acclaimed 2021 Oddero "Brunate" Barolo delivers a refined yet powerful expression of this revered La Morra cru. Romantic romas of ripe red cherry, black raspberry, and dried rose unfold alongside sweet spice, tobacco, and crushed stone. The palate is rich but precise, balancing vibrant red fruit, earthy minerality, and finely chiseled tannins, all carried by fresh acidity. The long, polished finish lingers with notes of balsamic, cedar, and licorice. It would make a lovely gift to cellar for later or to enjoy now after a long decant.
