Blind Tasting Part III Thursday, March 13th ![]() Join us and challenge your palate in our blind tastings! March is Part III of an exciting three-part series! This month's theme is "Chardonnay & Pinot Noir: But from Where?" This all-levels blind tasting is a fun way to learn more about wine (and drink!) as you'll attempt to identify the country, region, and vintage of three white wines, and three red wines, by using only your senses. Part game and part education, this tasting has something for everyone -- from absolute beginners who are new to blind tastings or wine in general, to veteran wine drinkers who want to sharpen their skills. Come one, come all! Please visit your store location's reservation page to purchase tickets in advance:
Discover Open Cellar: A New Way to Taste at K&L Friday, March 14th ![]() Join us for a special tasting experience as we unveil 'Open Cellar,' our exciting new way to explore wine at K&L! Instead of a traditional tasting event, Open Cellar gives you full control over your experience—choose from 30 rotating wines, available in 2 oz. pours, starting at just $5 each. We will be offering the program during regular store hours so that there will always be a tasting available at our tasting bars. However, this Friday, instead of our normally scheduled event, we will be highlighting this program launch and hope you will join us. Our curated menu includes rare and exciting selections, poured via Coravin for optimal freshness. You can try a single wine, build your own tasting flight, or choose from our pre-curated selections—it’s all up to you. Please note: Please visit your store location's reservation page to reserve your spot in advance:
From Papal Palaces to Prestigious Vineyards: Saturday, March 15th ![]() The Southern Rhône’s identity as a winemaking region was shaped by its strategic location along ancient trade routes, where viticulture flourished for centuries. The region’s vineyards stretch along the Rhône River, where a warm Mediterranean climate and the powerful mistral wind create ideal conditions for ripening grapes while preserving freshness. Winemaking here dates back to Roman times, but it was the papal residency in Avignon during the 14th century that cemented the area’s importance, leading to the rise of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and its signature blends. Grenache dominates the region’s reds, often supported by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other varieties, while limestone, clay, and the famous galets roulés stones contribute to the wines' structure and character. This tasting showcases the distinctive terroirs and centuries-old blending traditions that have defined Southern Rhône wines for generations.
