Summer Starts in Provence
Elegant Rosé from the Heart of Provence
"Two distinctly Provençal rosés, each offering remarkable consistency, exceptional value, and a style each its own."
— Keith Mabry, K&L Rhône & French Regional Wine Buyer

With the summer season in full swing, two of the cornerstones of our Direct Import rosé program have finally arrived. Domaine La Colombe and La Chapelle Saint Victor have been annual favorites for years, earning loyal followings thanks to their remarkable consistency, exceptional value, and unmistakable Provençal character.

While both are quintessential summer rosés, each offers a distinctly different expression of Provence. Colombe is driven by vibrant fruit and immediate charm, while La Chapelle Saint Victor leans into freshness, minerality, and a more savory profile. Whichever style you prefer, these are two bottles we look forward to every year—and the 2025s rank among the best we’ve seen. At under $15, both are effortless choices for the patio, the dinner table, or any warm-weather gathering.

2025 Domaine la Colombe Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé

2025 Domaine la Colombe Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé ($13.99)

Domaine de la Colombe is based in the village of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, located at elevations between 900 and 1,300 feet. The terroir includes clay-limestone soils in combination with sandier soils in the valley. The higher elevations combined with full sun exposure allow for full ripeness without sacrificing acidic balance and texture. It's a classic patio wine for aperitifs or lightly grilled seafood dishes.

Rosé season never quite feels official until La Colombe hits our shelves. Bright, expressive, and endlessly drinkable, the 2025 delivers everything we've come to expect from one of our most popular Direct Imports. Juicy white peach, ripe strawberry, and fresh watermelon lead the way, while a burst of citrus keeps everything lively and refreshing. There's a beautiful balance between generous fruit and crisp acidity that often makes this the first bottle to disappear from the table a little too quickly. Whether you're headed to the beach, firing up the grill, or simply looking for the perfect porch wine, La Colombe continues to set the standard for everyday Provence rosé.

2025 Domaine la Chapelle Saint Victor Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rosé

2025 Domaine la Chapelle Saint Victor Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rosé ($14.99)

This rosé from Domaine de la Chapelle Saint Victor AOP Coteaux d'Aix en Provence is made from a Mediterranean blend of Grenache and Cinsault, enhanced with a touch of Syrah (50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah). Winery note: "Light pink in color, with violet shades, this wine possesses a memorable and complex aroma. A lively wine that is smooth and possessing a certain sweetness. Very fruity, this rosé is particularly well suited as an aperitif or with salads and vegetable dishes." Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence is the western portion of Provence, centered around Aix and shaped by limestone-clay soils and the Mistral. The appellation is well suited to the Mediterranean blend used here, rather than a single-varietal style.

Colombe and La Chapelle Saint Victor often arrive in tandem and Chapelle has always been the more terroir-driven sibling. Where La Colombe emphasizes fruit, Chapelle leans into precision and minerality. Crisp Red Delicious apple, citrus zest, and subtle wild herbs are framed by a streak of limestone-driven freshness that carries through the finish. There's an understated complexity here that makes it equally enjoyable on its own or alongside food. Pair it with grilled seafood, Niçoise salad, or simply a warm evening outdoors, and it's easy to understand why this has become one of the defining wines of our Provence program.
