Upcoming Events

Jim Gaffigan’s Fathertime Bourbon:
Better Than a Hot Pocket

Monday, May 4th
4:00 to 6:00 PM — K&L Hollywood

Comedian and Actor Jim Gaffigan

Normally closed on Mondays, K&L Hollywood is making a rare exception by opening its doors for an exclusive meet-and-greet with Jim Gaffigan, where guests can purchase a bottle and have it signed!

Join Jim Gaffigan as we celebrate his bourbon project Fathertime Bourbon, a small-batch label he co-founded in 2024 with filmmaker Stu Pollard as a personal exploration into whiskey. Developed as a non-distillery producer, the brand focuses on hand-selected Kentucky barrels released as “precious batches,” with each name reflecting the milestones and challenges of fatherhood—because, as Gaffigan often jokes, parenting is the ultimate endurance sport. “Bourbon is basically adulting juice,” and each bottle captures that same humor alongside his direct involvement in selecting and shaping the final blend of every batch. Click here for more information.

Please Note: To ensure a smooth check-in experience, we encourage guests to arrive early! Precheck will begin at 3:45 PM. This event DOES NOT include a bourbon tasting. Jim Gaffigan will only sign purchased bottles; he will not be signing any other personal memorabilia on-site. No purchase is necessary to attend, but RSVP is REQUIRED for entry. Admission will be based on arrival time, with guests welcomed in order of the line.

4:00PM-6:00PM — K&L San Francisco
4:00PM-6:00PM — K&L Redwood City

Wheat Beers of Wonder

“Wheat Beers of Wonder” brings together breweries working across distinct traditions, each interpreting wheat through regional methods and fermentation styles shaped by place. In Chicago, Half Acre’s Akari Shogun draws on Japanese-inspired ingredients like lemongrass, while Belgium’s St. Bernardus continues a monastic brewing lineage with witbier brewed in Watou, and Kloster Andechs produces dunkel hefeweizen within a functioning Bavarian monastery brewery; elsewhere, Fieldwork in California builds on Belgian-style wit fermentation, Pasteur Street in Vietnam incorporates passionfruit into its wheat ale, and Drie Fonteinen in Beersel relies on spontaneous fermentation and extended aging to create Oude Geuze from blended lambics. Across these beers, wheat becomes a common thread linking techniques that include open fermentation, fruit integration, and centuries-old monastic brewing traditions.

Italy in Bloom: White Wines for the Season

In partnership with Herita USA—an importer of premium Italian and American estates—this tasting explores Italian white wines shaped by their unique origins and producers. The lineup kicks off with Ca’ Del Bosco’s benchmark "Cuvée Prestige" from the glacial gravels of Franciacorta, Italy’s premier traditional-method sparkling region. Zesty acidity, Italian herbs, and crisp minerality define these whites, with Etna’s lava-derived soils, Sardinian Vermentino—which carries a subtle saline edge, and Roero Arneis offering bright orchard fruit. As the season shifts and we gravitate towards lighter selections, these wines feel especially in sync, offering energy, nuance, and a natural affinity for spring’s ingredients.

Item Name Retail Link
Ca' Del Bosco "Cuvée Prestige" Franciacorta $46.99 View
2020 Ca' Del Bosco "Bosco Selva della Tesa" Chardonnay Lombardia $79.99 View
2024 Santa Margherita "Eterna" White Blend $49.99 View
2024 Cantina Mesa "Giunco" Vermentino di Sardegna $24.99 View

Exploring France Off the Beaten Path

Beyond the familiar benchmarks of Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Champagne lies a network of regions shaped by distinct local traditions, grape varieties, and historical identities that continue to define French wine. This lineup brings together bottles such as the rare, vibrant, and herb-inflected Tibouren grape from Clos Cibonne, the alpine-influenced sparkling wines of Jura, and the structured blends of Hérault, alongside rosé from Palette, a small appellation historically tied to Château Simone. Each wine reflects a specific place and approach, offering a look at regions that operate outside the most widely discussed categories while remaining deeply rooted in French viticulture.
