Friday, August 22nd  Join us as we celebrate Massican’s anniversary and the start of harvest season with a special tasting dedicated to the boundary-pushing vision of Dan Petroski—one of the leading voices reshaping California wine. Founded in 2009, Massican stands apart as Napa Valley’s only winery devoted exclusively to white wines, inspired by the crisp, mineral-driven styles of Italy’s Friuli region. Drawing on a background in publishing and a transformative winemaking stint in Sicily, Petroski built Massican with a singular focus: to explore California’s potential for freshness, restraint, and Mediterranean expression in a landscape dominated by reds.

White Burgundy Icons: Limestone & Lineage Saturday, August 23rd  A collector-level White Burgundy flight—icons of Puligny, Chassagne, and Meursault—without the trophy-bottle markup. Calibrate your palate across the Côte de Beaune with a six-wine study of benchmark sites and producers. We’ll contrast villages and premier crus—Joseph Colin’s finely etched Saint-Aubin 1er “En Remilly,” two stylistically distinct Chassagnes from Philippe Colin (2022) and Jean-Marc Pillot (2023), Sauzet’s precise Puligny-Montrachet (2023), Latour-Giraud’s silken Meursault 1er “Genevrières” (2023), and Sauzet’s high-slope Puligny 1er “La Truffière” (2023). Expect a clear read on site and vintage—2022’s breadth alongside 2023’s tension—plus a comparative look at texture, acidity, and mineral drive from hillside to mid-slope.
