Speaking of new discoveries, there's no better place to find them than in person at one of our weekly in-store tastings. Please see our Local Events page on the K&L website to view this week's tasting schedule. Here is our full list of items that are Back in Stock. Here you can browse all our recent additions on the website.
First, the 2021 Red Car Sonoma Coast Syrah earned 94 points from James Suckling, and one sip tells you why: this is a beautifully made wine, produced with real care and precision from start to finish. Waves of boysenberry, violet, black pepper, and cedar arrive in perfect proportion, and with just 450 cases produced, there’s not much to go around. At $19.95, it’s 43% off the $35 "Elsewhere" price, and it’s just now hitting its stride. Next, the 2023 Franck Millet "Insolite" Sancerre is a reserve cuvée from the Millet family's chalkiest Caillotes limestone holdings, built for depth through long cold maceration and a soil so prized the Millets tuck souvenir rocks into every wooden six-pack. Fuller and more concentrated than the domaine's standard bottling, it opens with grapefruit and lemon custard before giving way to a stony, saline finish that lingers. K&L has carried this family's wines since 1994, and the 2023 is among the finest we've seen. Please visit On the Trail for more of our buyer's fabulous Loire finds. Finally, K&L's "Faultline" 100 Proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a labor of love, blended from ten carefully selected high-rye casks ranging from 8 to 10 years old, chosen to carry on the tradition during K&L's 50th Anniversary. Burnt sienna in the glass, it greets you with warm spice, coffee grounds, and orange peel on the nose, then unfolds into marmalade, peanut butter, and Mexican hot chocolate on the palate with a finish that lures you back in. At $40, it's as at home in a cocktail as it is on its own, and either way, it generously over-delivers.
