This week we explores three distinct expressions of place, from the limestone hills of the Loire Valley to the sun-drenched slopes of Provence and the rugged heights of Napa Valley. Each bottle offers a different perspective on its region, making for a lineup that's equally at home on the dinner table or sipped and savored solo. First, 2025 Domaine Jacourette Côtes de Provence Cru Sainte-Victoire Rosé comes from Hélène Dragon's high-elevation vineyards at the foot of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Grown on limestone and clay soils, this elegant Provençal rosé balances lively notes of tropical fruit and wild strawberry with a fresh, rounded palate that captures the easygoing charm of southern France. Next, 2025 Domaine Fournier Pére et Fils "Les Belles Vignes" Sancerre brings together the three defining soil types of the appellation into one beautifully complete expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Bright citrus, orchard fruit, fresh herbs, and flinty minerality come together in a wine with both energy and depth, offering a wonderful introduction to why Sancerre remains one of the world's benchmark white wines. Finally, 2021 Strala Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is led by fruit from the acclaimed Montagna Vineyard on Pritchard Hill and made by Atelier Melka's star winemaker Maayan Koschitzky. Awarded 96 points by Decanter, it layers dark cherry, savory spice, and aromatic herbs into a polished, structured Cabernet that delivers remarkable pedigree at a fraction of its typical retail price.
