Whether it is a new allocation or an old favorite, below you will find our most recent additions to the diverse selection at K&L Wine Merchants. We receive new opportunities weekly, from direct imports to local distributors to carefully inspected back-vintage collections—read on for the best of this week's discoveries. Speaking of new discoveries, there's no better place to find them than in person at one of our weekly in-store tastings. Please see our Local Events page on the K&L website to view this week's tasting schedule. Here is our full list of items that are Back in Stock. Here you can browse all our recent additions on the website.
First, 2021 Caelesta "Estate" Templeton Gap District Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon. perfectly captures all the qualities that make West Side Paso Robles famous, offered at a price that frankly should not be possible for a wine of this caliber. Winemaker Brian Farrell, who cut his teeth at Denner and spent time in Australia's Barossa Valley, is doing serious work on his family's hillside estate, where calcareous soils and cool Templeton Gap winds are yielding wines that Wine Enthusiast recently awarded 94 points and a Cellar Selection designation. Next, we're pleased to announce the fast-moving staff favorite, DI Champagne Franck Bonville Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne is back in stock. The Bonville family farms some of the finest Chardonnay terroir on the Côte des Blancs, and their entry-level bottling, built on at least half reserve wines from their chalk-driven Grand Cru holdings in Avize, delivers a level of complexity and drinkability that puts many a prestige cuvée to shame. Baguette, white flowers, ripe citrus and a lovely saline precision make this one of the most satisfying non-vintage Champagnes we carry, and it never lasts long. Here are even more recent arrivals from Champagne Franck Bonville. Finally, this K&L exclusive bottling of 2014 Ben Nevis 11 Year Old "Signatory Vintage" K&L Exclusive 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt No 3 Cask Strength Non Chillfiltered Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) is a fine example of the treasures that single cask independents can quietly turn out. Distilled at the foot of Britain's highest mountain and aged eleven years in a second-fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, this muscular Highland malt arrives at a natural cask strength of 56.4%, unfiltered and unadulterated, with all the dense, oily richness Ben Nevis is known for and a layer of dried fruit, dark spice and old wood complexity that only well-seasoned sherry oak can provide. We offered the same distillate in first-fill sherry last year and it flew out the door, so don’t hit snooze on this one.
