What's New in Burgundy January 2026 This week’s newsletter covers the full spectrum of what’s exciting right now, including a once-in-a-century Chablis collaboration celebrating La Chablisienne’s 100th anniversary and a deep look at the expressive, mineral-driven 2024 white Burgundy vintage. You’ll find standout values from Chablis and Pouilly-Fuissé, a focused selection of collectible benchmarks for the cellar, and details on our all-store White Burgundy tasting this Saturday, where we’ll preview the 2024 vintage side by side with a mature counterpoint. Whether you’re buying for tonight, the next decade, or tasting to learn, this edition is built to guide you through Burgundy’s most compelling releases right now.
Celebrating 100 Years of La Chablisienne with an Exclusive CollaborationSometimes it’s simply kismet. Our latest private-label release is a collaboration with the famed Chablis producer La Chablisienne. K&L has worked closely with La Chablisienne for many years, and when the opportunity arose to create a private label together, we jumped at the chance. Adding to the magic is the timing: the 2023 vintage commemorates La Chablisienne’s 100th anniversary, while its release in 2026 coincides with K&L Wine Merchants’ 50th anniversary. The Great White Vintage: 2024 BurgundyThe changes in Burgundy over the last 25 years are pretty staggering. The region used to struggle nearly every year against rain, frost, hail, and mildew—while lately we find Burgundians wishing for more precipitation! In 2024 their prayers were answered—and then some! The 2024 vintage saw more cumulative rainfall than the 2022 and 2023 vintages combined. Read More On the Trail
Mineral-Driven, Zesty Chablis from Gerard Tremblay's 2023 VintageDomaine Gérard Tremblay is one of the great value producers in all of Chablis. Chateau de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru ValuesOne of our newest direct-import discoveries, we are thrilled to finally have the wines of Château Beauregard stateside. Located in Fuissé, the estate has been family-owned since 1854 and currently spans just 37 hectares, with parcels in Pouilly-Fuissé and Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru, as well as in Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly, Fleurie, and Moulin-à-Vent. By vinifying single parcels and prioritizing minimal intervention both in the cellar and the vineyard, Beauregard has maintained a level of precision since its inception, and after 150 years, the wines are truly unignorable. Small holdings, excellent terroir, and undeniable passion are not necessarily unusual in Burgundy, but they are rarely seen at these prices.
Collectible BurgundyA tightly curated snapshot of Burgundy at its highest level, anchored by true grand cru benchmarks and elite premier crus. Icons like Comte de Vogüé in Musigny, Ponsot in Clos de la Roche, and Michel Gros in Richebourg define the ceiling of site and longevity, while d’Angerville, Ramonet, Bachelet-Monnot, and Parent show why the best premier crus still rival grand cru depth. A mature 1999 Lafon Meursault Charmes rounds out the lineup—Burgundy selected for collectors who value provenance, restraint, and time.
