2025 Bordeaux Vintage Guide

2025 BORDEAUX VINTAGE GUIDE
June 2026

Every vintage tells its own story, and 2025 is one that rewards close attention. After a tricky spring and a hot summer that was ultimately tempered by well‑timed rains, the vines carried through the season with remarkable balance. The result is a set of wines that combine concentration with lift — a freshness that keeps the vintage vibrant rather than heavy. The top estates made excellent wine, but what makes 2025 genuinely exciting is how broadly that quality extends across the region.

What stands out most is the consistency. Both Left Bank and Right Bank delivered wines that are expressive, finely textured, and impressively accessible even at this early stage. The best examples have the structure to age, but also the clarity and balance that will make them enjoyable well before they reach maturity. After tasting extensively through the vintage, I’m confident that the selections we’ve assembled reflect the strengths of 2025 without overstating them — a range that offers serious wines and smart opportunities for collectors.

Pricing has been measured, with releases that make sense for the quality in the bottle. For buyers looking for a vintage that combines character, consistency, and sensible pricing, 2025 is exactly that.  For a quick look at all the wines on offer, check it out here. To dig deeper into the vintage itself, I invite you to read on.

2025 BORDEAUX
Like Never Before

Harvests were as early as they've been since 1989 and yields were as low as they were in 1961. The solar vintage seemed to hint at 2022, but the result is something far more restrained — remarkable wines that are refreshing in style, complex in structure, and at prices that range from sharp to can't miss. Throw the vintage comparisons out the window. Read Ryan's full report On The Trail.

WHERE THE VALUE IS:
Pricing, Tariffs, and the Smartest Buys Right Now

The wines are as good as they have ever been, and pricing for many releases has fallen to levels that remind us of campaigns from a decade ago. Not long ago, a 97-point Bordeaux was generally a three-figure purchase. Too. Many. Good. Wines. — and the consumer is the beneficiary. Read Ryan's full market analysis On The Trail.

Highest Upside Wines of the Vintage

Many estates made wines that will go down in the books alongside their most legendary releases. And because pricing has, for the most part, been very fair, there's real upside here for the savvy buyer. These are the bottles Andrew would be moving on now — quality, scarcity, price, or all three. THE LEFT BANK
Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Margaux, and Saint-Estèphe

If 2025 has a winner, it's Margaux — sixty millimeters of rain at the very end of August dropped potential alcohol by more than a point and arrived exactly when the appellation needed it. Saint-Julien was the steadiest run of the entire trip, top to bottom. And Pauillac off roughly half the usual crop produced wines of extraordinary density and concentration. The Left Bank delivered. THE RIGHT BANK
Saint-Émilion and Pomerol

Where the Left Bank impressed with structure and precision, the Right Bank was about texture. The moment we crossed from the Médoc, the whole character of the vintage shifted — silky, expressive wines layered with minerality. Saint-Émilion's limestone held yields remarkably steady while Pomerol's deep clay was the hero of the appellation, producing wines of concentration, purity, and a cool mineral edge unlike any recent vintage. Read Andrew's full Right Bank Report.

PESSAC-LÉOGNAN
The Overlooked Appellation of the Vintage

Graves and Pessac-Léognan are often left out of the Bordeaux conversation — and that's a glaring omission. The quiet steal of the campaign was right here, especially the dry whites, which were as complete as any whites tasted across the entire vintage. Haut-Bailly earned universal top scores. Smith Haut Lafitte made one of the whites of the vintage. And Les Carmes Haut-Brion once again worked their magic. Read Scott's full Pessac-Léognan Report.
