We have a fascinating lineup this week, each bottle offering something entirely different: a pair of Left Bank Bordeaux, including one perfectly suited to warm-weather sipping, a pure and elegant Barolo from a rising star in the Langhe, and a remarkable K&L exclusive 42-year-old Armagnac. First, the 2022 Lamothe-Bergeron, Haut-Médoc as arrived, and it's everything we've come to expect from this beloved estate, nestled between St-Julien and Margaux in the heart of the Left Bank. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2022 has earned widespread acclaim, with Decanter calling it "a top buy" and Jane Anson praising its ability to "deliver plenty of personality and good value." For those looking ahead to warmer days, the newly arrived 2024 Lamothe-Bergeron Bordeaux Blanc offers a fresh and lively counterpoint, tailor-made for summer dinner tables and patios. Next, the 2021 K&L Discovery Series Italy, Barolo is back in stock at the same great price, providing an excellent opportunity to revisit one of the guiding ideas behind this series: discovering exceptional producers before the wider market catches on. Sourced from a rising-star estate whose meticulous vineyard work shines through in the vintage, the wine offers soaring aromas of crushed raspberry, cherry, and rose petal, followed by a vibrant palate framed by fine, silky tannins. Transparent, fragrant, and beautifully composed, it captures the elegance of the 2021 vintage with remarkable clarity. Explore what else awaits in our K&L Discovery Series Italy. Finally, the 1983 Domaine Durroux 42 Year Old "K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel No.20 Mauléon-d’Armagnac Bas-Armagnac (700ml) is the sort of spirit that demands your full attention. Jean-Marc Durroux tends his vineyards and orchards in Mauléon-d'Armagnac with a deep respect for biodiversity, crafting brandy with the same patient methods his family has practiced for generations. Distilled by hand from 100% Baco and matured for 42 years in Gascon oak, this single barrel was selected from the heart of his cellar and bottled exclusively for K&L at full cask strength, without filtration or reduction. The quality is striking, and, at this price, the value is nearly impossible to ignore. Discover more "K&L Exclusive" spirits here.
