We’ll be joined by Hendrick’s Brand Ambassador Sarah Berardi as you sip on two perfectly chilled martinis—one featuring classic Hendrick’s, the other highlighting the all-new "Another Hendrick’s"—and graze your way through a selection of playful, elevated bites.

Join us for an exclusive evening dedicated to one of Bordeaux’s most historic and iconic estates as we gather at République in Los Angeles for a wine dinner with Château Lafite Rothschild. Guiding the evening will be Olivier Gailly, Directeur Développement Commercial for Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), joined by K&L Bordeaux Buyer Ryan Moses.

For the price of a single bottle of First Growth Bordeaux, you will spend an evening at one of Los Angeles’ most compelling dining destinations, tasting four benchmark vintages of Château Lafite Rothschild—1990, 1998, 2009, and 2016—alongside two exceptional vintages of Château Rieussec, the Rothschild Sauternes. Guests will also have access to an extremely limited allocation of these wines, available exclusively to attendees.

Founded in the 17th century and anchored in Pauillac, Château Lafite is the result of a rare harmony of nature which continues to be created from vintage to vintage, for over a thousand seasons. Classified as a 1st Growth in 1855, the same family, for over 150 years, is guided by a continuity of vision, with a house style that remains unyielding, yet delicate, and subtle.

Our setting, République, is one of LA's most celebrated restaurants, housed in a historic 1929 building, recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and led by husband-and-wife chef duo Margarita Manzke, a James Beard Award winner, & Walter Manzke. Join Jim Gaffigan as we celebrate his bourbon project Fathertime Bourbon, a small-batch label he co-founded in 2024 with filmmaker Stu Pollard as a personal exploration into whiskey. Developed as a non-distillery producer, the brand focuses on hand-selected Kentucky barrels released as “precious batches,” with each name reflecting the milestones and challenges of fatherhood—because, as Gaffigan often jokes, parenting is the ultimate endurance sport. “Bourbon is basically adulting juice,” and each bottle captures that same humor alongside his direct involvement in selecting and shaping the final blend of every batch.

The month of May brings a special, blind tasting theme: “Left Bank vs. Right Bank Bordeaux”—yes, we can tell you that the regions predominately featured in this tasting span both sides of Bordeaux’s Garonne and Gironde, from gravelly Cabernet-driven Médoc to the Merlot-rich limestone and clay soils of the Right Bank—but the real challenge is trying to guess where they're from! The tasting also highlights the outstanding 2016 vintage across the entire lineup, showcasing how both Left and Right Bank wines from that year reflect remarkable balance, structure, and depth.

These all-levels tastings are a fun and engaging way to deepen your wine knowledge—and drink delicious wine, of course! Using only your senses, you’ll attempt to identify specific grapes, and sub-regions of these fantastic 2016 Bordeaux wines. Taste your way through this lineup with expert guidance from our knowledgeable K&L staff.
