Hunger continues to affect every corner of our country, from bustling cities to rural towns. Meanwhile, Feeding America estimates that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding cuts in the recently passed House budget reconciliation bill would result in about 9.5 billion fewer meals for SNAP participants every year. We're running out of time to prevent these cuts—that would take food away from millions of our neighbors facing hunger—from becoming a reality.
Tell your senators to protect SNAP and make it easier for people to access the foods they need to thrive, not harder!

Lawmakers are trying to cut SNAP benefits. Tell Congress: Protect SNAP!

Our new Map the Meal Gap 2025 report confirms what we already knew: Hunger remains a national crisis. And the data is alarming:
- Child food insecurity exists in every county and congressional district, reaching nearly 50% in some areas.
- Among counties with the highest food insecurity rates, 85% are rural.
- Seniors and older adults are facing hunger in every state.
- While most people facing food insecurity nationwide are non-Hispanic white, Black and Latino individuals experience significantly higher rates, reaching up to 60% in some counties.
We need to ensure everyone has the chance to thrive.
SNAP is our nation's most effective tool in the movement to end hunger. It helps families, children, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities access the food we all need to thrive.
SNAP also provides an economic boost for local economies—especially in rural areas—as SNAP benefits are often spent locally at small grocery stores and farmers markets.
Our lawmakers must protect food assistance for our neighbors facing hunger by rejecting cuts to SNAP funding and any proposals to add more red tape! With high grocery prices and the rising cost of living, we need to strengthen programs that help our neighbors, not cut them!
Ask your senators: Protect SNAP and help people facing hunger access the healthy foods we all need to thrive!
Together, we can help neighbors keep food on the table. Thank you for being a vital part of this work.
Sincerely,
Kristina Kus
