Whakapapa Adaptive Festival 2025

WHAKAPAPA ADAPTIVE FESTIVAL ATHLETES AND CREW 2025

Kia ora -,

Great to see you for another edition of Ngā Whakapapa.

This was one of the ways that we wanted to up our connection to community this season, another was a commitment to more events on the schedule.

We've stacked them in these school holidays - on Tuesday the sun came out for our first Freeride competition in several years, and last week we held the first ever North Island Adaptive Festival. A sell-out year one saw adaptive athletes and their supporters experience a wide range of snowsports and Whakapapa hospitality from Friday to Sunday. We are really excited to grow this festival into the future.

There's more than three weeks left of the 2025 season, and we should see all three T-bars providing plenty of fun all the way through until October 26th. We look forward to seeing you up here - hopefully in the spring sunshine!

Nga mihi,

Travis

2026 WINTER SEASON PASSES

Super Earlybird Sale is back this October!

A few weeks ago, we reached out and invited you to share your thoughts through our survey. The response was incredible, and we want to thank everyone who took the time to contribute. The spot prizes for this will be drawn shortly and winners contacted directly.

Your feedback helps us ensure our passes and pricing truly reflect what matters most to you. What you told us reaffirmed what makes Whakapapa so special: our welcoming community, the family-friendly slopes that bring generations together and the deep connection we all feel to the maunga.

At the same time, you also let us know what we could work on. Many of you highlighted that clear information and flexible options are just as important as great snow. We’ve listened. Guided by your insights, we’re committed to reducing risk, simplifying choices and making it easier for you to plan your time on the mountain with confidence. These changes are already shaping the design of our passes and offers.

Whakapapa has always been more than just a place to ski and ride, it’s a community, a shared experience and a mountain that means something different to each of us. To celebrate that, when Peter scanned at the gates this week he became part of a milestone - making 2025 our biggest season since 2019. To say thank you, we surprised him with a 2026 Season Pass.

By sharing your voice and joining us on the mountain, you are helping us write the next chapter together.

WOMEN’S FREERIDE AT WHAKAPAPA 2025

From first turns to freeride laps, Women’s Freeride brought together skiers and snowboarders of all levels for a full day of progression, support and shared stoke. Guided by instructors and mountain ambassadors, every session offered new skills and new riding buddies.

A hands-on stop in the Whakapapa Workshop added practical know-how to the mix, rounding out a day built on confidence, connection and the pure joy of being on snow.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS HIGHLIGHT

The first Whakapapa Adaptive Festival brought together community and mountain magic.

Over four days, adaptive athletes, support crews and their families took part in lessons, free skiing, sledding, a fancy-dress fun race, movie nights and much more! As the first event of its kind on the North Island, it offered a welcoming space for connection, encouragement and time together on the snow.

.

See you on the maunga!
