The First Shearlings of the Season

Good Morning Sabah People,

Every year around this time, our workshops shift their focus to producing Shearling Babas.

The process, though, really starts about six months earlier, when we visit our favorite shearling supplier in Istanbul and make our selections — the fluffiest off-whites, a rich tonal brown, and, as always, a couple of poppy colors too. We source some of the highest-quality, fluffiest shearling we can find.

That shearling arrives at the workshop in early August, and while the weather is still warm, our shoemakers get down to cutting, trimming and crafting — making sure every pair is as cozy and beautiful as you’ve come to expect.

Our Shearling Baba production is limited to just a couple of months each year — and to as many pairs as our workshops can make during that time.

Over the years, they’ve become one of the most beloved products in our lineup. Incredibly comfortable, incredibly functional, and the kind of shoe you slip into and immediately feel right at home.

The first four new colors of the season are now available on the Sabah Portal, and will arrive at all Sabah Houses by this weekend.

It’ll be an extremely limited production, so we wanted to give those who really want a pair the chance to reserve ’em before we get to work.

We took a trip last weekend to tour Philip Johnson's Glass House in New Canaan, CT -- a house I had always wanted to see and certainly left me thinking: 'I need to declutter my apartment!' My Corso Boots accompanied me on the journey!
