Good Morning Sabah People,

After a month in Greece, and before returning to NYC for the beginning of fall, I took a quick detour to get an early jump on the changing season in one of the world’s creative capitals: Copenhagen.

From the food to the fashion, Copenhagen had always piqued my curiosity — and finally, I was able to explore it properly. After a month in the Aegean, I was looking forward to cool mornings, a little fall layering, and maybe even a bit of rain (sounds crazy, I know). So I took the 10-hour overnight ferry from Patmos to Athens and boarded a flight north.

The trip really kicked fall into gear for me, and by the end I was ready to get back to NYC for the changing weather and the season’s faster pace.

But first, I’m excited to share a few stories from Copenhagen. Friends made, bike rides taken, meals shared, things seen — I came home with plenty of inspiration for the road ahead. That’s all to come in future notes. For now, a few photos from the trip!

Boots on the Ground in Copenhagen.

The one part of my plan I’d overlooked was my footwear. All you really need on Patmos is a pair of sandals and maybe an evening Sabah. Copenhagen was another story.

Every few hours the weather seemed to swing from sunshine to showers, so I called in a favor from our London shop and had them send over a pair of Corso Boots in Ancona Brown.

They ended up being pretty much perfect. I wore them with fatigues, sweaters, and jackets — whatever the day called for. And the water-resistant oiled suede meant I never really had to think about the weather. I wore them almost every day that week.
