New Babets Are Here ⚡

Good Morning Sabah People,

Today, we're introducing our first new Babets since launch: a rich Espresso Brown and a smooth, metallic Silver. Two new colors we had Fall in mind for — whether a day at the office, a Saturday wandering around the city, or a night out with friends.

Our take on the classic ballet flat, the Babet is handcrafted from exceptionally soft leathers, completely unlined for a glove-like fit that's featherlight, flexible, and wonderfully comfortable. Made to mold to your feet with wear, it's an easy shoe to dress up or down.

To celebrate the new colors, we took our Babets out for an evening in New York with a few friends. A little walking, a little dancing, and plenty of time on our feet. Just the sort of night we had in mind when we designed the Babet!

The idea was simple: get a couple of friends together, take our new Babets out for an evening spin, and see where the night takes us.

We called up Adrienne, a friend of Sabah and longtime collaborator (she's behind Textile General Store), and asked her to bring a friend. She brought along Cynthia Villamil, a New York native, photographer, and art director. Usually the one behind the camera, this time Cynthia stepped in front of ours.

First stop, Mr. Fong's, a Chinatown institution tucked away beneath the Manhattan Bridge. A proper New York watering hole — dim lighting, great cocktails, good music, and a pool table. Just the sort of place where you can settle in for one drink and end up staying for three.

From there, we headed north to Alphabet City and one of our favorite late-night spots, Studio 151. Hidden upstairs above the legendary music venue Nublu, it's part Japanese listening bar, part cocktail lounge, with DJs spinning vinyl and a room that tends to get livelier as the night goes on. A good place to finish an evening, or keep one going.

A few cocktails, a little dancing, and plenty of walking in between. Just the sort of night the Babet was made for — easy on the feet, good-looking, and ready for wherever the evening takes you.
