I can’t quite recall how I discovered Sarah Britton’s work or landed in her DMs last autumn, but I have fallen for her beautiful approach to food.

Sarah is a holistic nutritionist and cookbook author who teaches an array of topics. On her last trip to Los Angeles, she visited us at the goop office and took us through her fermentation cooking class. It was, as expected, informative. It was also a resonant reminder for our team of how life-affirming it is to simply connect ourselves to the food we’re eating. Massaging red cabbage with your hands, feeling it crunch and start to shrink, watching that brilliant bright purple color release into the water: What joy there is to be found in food. Especially when it’s been prepared with the kind of reverence and ease that Sarah brings into the kitchen (or, rather, into the goop dining hall).

I can attest that the bread recipe Sarah shares in today’s newsletter is indeed life-changing. And I can’t wait to try the spin-off version she created just for us—my flavor profile request was for something a bit sweeter, and my ingredient idea was dried cherries. I bet she nailed it.
