Eighteen years ago this week, I sent the first goop newsletter from my kitchen in London. It included two recipes and photos shot on my BlackBerry. From there came the goop travel guides—the places I’d send a friend visiting a new city—and eventually, goop grew into a much bigger world.
But I’ve missed the immediacy and experimentation of that first newsletter. There was something nice about having an idea or a recommendation, writing it down, and hitting send before I had too much time to overthink it.
So as of yesterday, goop is officially on Substack. We know so many of you are already over there, and it felt like it was time we joined you.
It feels only right to start with recipes. I'll be sharing—exclusively on Substack—the Boyfriend Breakfast recipes I make for Brad on Saturday mornings. (Plus, an archive of those recipes—which I’ve never shared before—for you to peruse.) I’ll also be sharing the travel recommendations and hidden gems currently living in my Notes app. And the goop team (along with some of our longtime friends who are already on Substack) will be sharing what they’re trying, seeing, reading, and discovering. Some posts will be free to everyone, while others will be for paid subscribers, with a little more behind-the-scenes access and deeper dives.
This weekly newsletter isn’t going anywhere, but we hope you’ll join us over there, too, as we follow our curiosity where it takes us.
Love, Gwyneth
