🚨THIS IS AN EMERGENCY: The Senate has passed devastating, sweeping cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, now it’s back to the House of Representatives 🚨

This is our last chance to stop the bill from becoming a reality, but we need your help to make our voices heard. Tell your representative: NO CUTS TO SNAP AND MEDICAID!

Campaign to End Hunger.

We’re at a critical turning point right now.

The Senate just passed a bill that slashes funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid, taking between 6 to 9 billion meals off the table for neighbors facing hunger annually and ending health care coverage for about 8 million people.

Losing food and health care benefits at the same time would be catastrophic for our neighbors, especially people in rural areas.

🚨But it’s not too late.

The House of Representatives will have another opportunity to vote before this nightmare becomes a reality. Tell your representative: NO CUTS TO SNAP AND MEDICAID!

For over 50 years, SNAP and Medicaid have been cornerstones of our nation's commitment to ensuring people can afford groceries and have access to health care. If this bill passes, we’ll see the most extreme cuts to these programs in history!

The bill proposes drastic changes, including:

  • Forcing states to absorb SNAP costs: a family’s ability to eat could soon depend on their zip code and states are already strapped for funding. Some states could even face a nightmare scenario of being forced to stop providing SNAP benefits entirely!
  • Adding more barriers to receiving SNAP benefits: increased paperwork requirements can lead to lost benefits, especially for groups like seniors.
  • Freezing Thrifty Food Plan updates: which calculate how much money a family needs to purchase groceries. This means that SNAP benefits won’t keep up with increasing food costs.

More than 42 million of our neighbors, including millions of children, rely on SNAP to afford groceries, and more than 70 million people depend on Medicaid for health care.

Yet, these cuts are dangerously close to becoming a catastrophic reality.

There is still time to stop the House of Representatives from passing this bill—but it’s quickly running out. Please send your letter RIGHT NOW!

Sincerely,
