When the federal government shuts down, uncertainty begins immediately. Help ensure no one goes without food. Give now.

For millions of our neighbors, a government shutdown means uncertainty about paychecks and food benefits.

More people are facing hunger right now than any time in the last decade. A prolonged shutdown could make matters worse in multiple ways:

  • Disrupt paychecks for active-duty military members and reservists, federal employees, and employees of federal contractors—like the workers who support building and cafeteria operations at federal buildings.
  • Put families, seniors, and people with disabilities at greater risk of hunger if the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), and other food programs face interruptions.
  • Add pressure to food banks already working hard to meet record levels of demand while navigating significant challenges.

Your support is critical. Give now to help families facing hunger through the shutdown and beyond >>

And because we all have a role to play, including our elected officials, please also take a minute to write to your lawmakers. Tell them to do their part by working together and reopening the federal government >>

Thank you for joining a movement of supporters who know the power of working together as one. Together, we can make a difference.

Sincerely,

Linda Nageotte
