| Two troubling things came across my desk today. The first is a report from our team here at Feeding America that one of our biggest fundraising pushes of the year, Hunger Action Month, is falling short. Way short. The second is a new U.S. report that the number of people who simply aren't getting enough to eat is growing—it's the highest our country has experienced in a decade. The result: more and more of our neighbors facing hunger, and much too little money raised to help meet the current demand for food assistance. This isn't the kind of math any of us want to see. I'm asking you now—urgently—to help change that equation. We need to raise $100,000 in the next 24 hours to help provide meals and groceries for the increasing number of adults and kids experiencing hunger right now. Please, help us make up the difference with a special donation in honor of Hunger Action Month—and thanks to a challenge match from Pampered Chef, your impact can be DOUBLED. I know firsthand the difference we make when we each do whatever we can to help end hunger. I've seen it. You probably have too—the smile on a neighbor's face who has filled her cupboard for the first time in weeks. The laughter of a kid in the park who has the energy to play because his tummy is full. Or, the sigh of relief from the couple down the street who can sleep a little better because they're not worried about tomorrow's meals. These are real people, all around us—and we have a chance to make a real difference. Please, I urge you, when we come together we can do great things. Today, we need to come together.
