During the school year, more than 20 million kids across the country rely on free breakfasts and lunches at school to grow, play, and thrive. But at a time when the cost of basic needs like groceries and healthcare are out of reach for millions, support from people like you to help meet this moment is even more critical.

Last summer alone, the network provided 30 million meals to kids, all thanks to supporters like yourself.

These summer meal programs provide meals to kids across the country at libraries, parks, community centers, community youth programs, and more. Programs like:

Alejandro giving a meal to a kid from the back of his food bank's truck.
Alejandro Rios providing summer meals in Las Vegas, through the Meet Up and Eat Up program at Three Square Food Bank, a Feeding America network food bank.

The Meet Up and Eat Up program, a unique summer initiative at Three Square Food Bank, a Feeding America network food bank. By delivering free meals directly to kids across Las Vegas, drivers like Alejandro Rios bring food right to where kids live and play.

The School Food Pantry Program, which provides free food to students and their families across the country. From prepared boxes to drive-thru pantries and farmer's market-style pickups, nearly 4,000 food pantries meet community needs by working with food banks, community partners, and school administrators.

The BackPack Program, which offers families free groceries distributed in backpacks to kids on weekends and during school breaks—like summer break—at over 10,000 locations across the United States.

Through a variety of summer meal programs, the Feeding America network of food banks helps fill the gap by providing meals to kids all summer long. And it's only thanks to your support that we can help feed kids all year round, not only at school, but over the summer too.

Sincerely,

Team Feeding America
