| This Pride Month, we're celebrating and reaffirming our commitment to helping everyone facing hunger, and spotlighting our LGBTQ+ neighbors, like Blue. Blue volunteers—and gets a little extra support—from the Allston Brighton Food Pantry, which partners with The Greater Boston Food Bank, a member of the Feeding America network. The Allston Brighton Food Pantry not only addresses hunger but also serves as a beacon of hope and inclusivity for LGBTQ+ neighbors. "Seeing a sign that says 'Black Trans Lives Matter' here is powerful. It's uplifting to see a place specifically supporting Black and trans people," Blue said. "It's so important for communities to have safe, accepting spaces."
That's why Blue is proud to volunteer, because it's "about more than providing food; it's about giving people dignity and showing them they're not alone," they said. "We live in trying times, but my hope is that we can treat each other with kindness, recognizing our shared humanity." This Pride Month and beyond, you can make a big impact in your community, like Blue, by volunteering, advocating for policies that address the root causes of hunger, or making a gift to help get food to neighbors facing hunger.
