What really drives aging? Meet the 12 hallmarks of aging.
Aging might feel inevitable, but scientists have identified 12 biological processes that actually drive it: the hallmarks of aging. These hallmarks include 12 interconnected biological processes—genomic instability, chronic inflammation, cellular senescence, and more—which provide a roadmap for developing interventions that support long-term health. In this edition of Aging 101, we break down each hallmark and explore how NAD+ precursors, senolytics, and immune-supportive compounds are designed to target them and promote healthier aging.

Target the hallmarks of aging with Basis
Basis combines nicotinamide riboside (NR) and pterostilbene (PT) to boost NAD+ by 40% and support key biological pathways of aging. Plus, taking Basis consistently for 2+ years has been linked to a ~5% slower biological aging rate.*
*Compared to individuals who did not take Basis. The data is based on 473 participants who self-reported their supplement use. Biological age can also be influenced by various environmental and lifestyle factors and changes.

Three minutes to better blood sugar, featuring Mark Sarzynski, Ph.D.
If you’re desk-bound most of the day, here’s some good news: A recent study in the
Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports found that short movement breaks—just three minutes of walking or squats every 45 minutes—can lower blood sugar and insulin levels more effectively than one longer workout. The key is timing: moving around meals, when glucose tends to spike.
“Doing something during those eight hours is better than nothing, but breaking it up more times throughout the day is better than just doing it one time,” says
Mark Sarzynski, Ph.D., associate professor of exercise science in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina and Elysium Scientific Advisory Board member.

: Basis is
“the anti-aging supplement that anti-aging experts take.”
Amazon Prime Day may have come and gone, but the buzz about Elysium is still going strong.
Basis was featured as a standout beauty and wellness product on WUSA9’s
Great Day Washington. Beauty expert Cheryl Kramer Kaye said,
“This is the anti-aging supplement that anti-aging experts take,” because of its ability to boost NAD+ levels and slow cellular aging.
PIX11 Morning News beauty and lifestyle contributor Milly Almodovar touted
Mosaic because it elevates carotenoid levels and hyaluronic acid in skin to combat internal and external stressors (like sun and aging), while reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“I had been using
Basis for several years and did think that I was less fatigued after golf. Stopped using it and started noticing how beat I was after a round of golf or after a walk. Started taking it again and actually noticed the difference again. Will probably take it forever.”
