With a massive score from one of the toughest critics of Italian wine, this is one to stock up on as it is just hitting the beginning of its drinking window.

"The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Buriano is another fabulous wine from Rocca di Castagnoli. A blast of inky dark fruit makes a strong first impression. Blue fruit, lavender, graphite, dried herbs, chocolate and pomegranate are some of the many notes that take shape as this deep, pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its undeniable allure. This is so impressive."

2019 Gandona Encosta Cabernet Sauvignon

This is going to be the star of the tasting table this Saturday!
Gandona Encosta is a full-bodied Cab with rich flavors of black cherry, plum, and blackberry layered with notes of spice, cedar, and mineral tones. It shows refined tannins and a long, textured finish, with added complexity from aging in French oak and small amounts of other Bordeaux varietals.
While still a little young, we think this is drinking beautifully right now!

"Gandona's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Encosta features scents of crushed stone and pencil shavings layered atop ripe plums and black cherries. While it's full-bodied, with some grainy tannins, it's not unapproachable, with a long, dusty-textured finish. For those keeping track of the minutia, it was aged in two-thirds new French oak and there's a tiny proportion (less than 2% in aggregate) of other grape varieties: Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Previous vintages are still on the market for around $100, so this may be the rare affordable bottling from Pritchard Hill (1,050 cases produced)."
