2022 Olivier Leflaive Montagny 1 Er Cru Les Vignes Sur Le Cloux

It's rare when a white wine is the star of the tasting table, and that very well may be the case this Saturday!
This brings bright citrus and orchard fruit aromas layered with subtle floral notes and a touch of toasted almond. On the palate, it shows crisp acidity and a refined minerality, leading to a clean, elegant finish with hints of lemon zest and light oak.
Premier Cru white Burgundy at this price is completely unheard of, so make sure you come down to try and buy!
"The 2022 vintage brought serenity to the vineyards with a healthy harvest and decent yields. While rainfall totals were far from abundant, 2022 was marked by above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation from the start of the growing season. Early April brought frosts reminiscent of the devastating nights of April 6th and 7th, 2021, but fortunately, the impact was far less severe. 2022 was a record-breaking year for sunshine, with the equivalent of an extra month of July. This wine displays nuances of yellow fruits such as apricot. On the palate, it is rather mineral, deep with a delicious touch of almond." - Winery

This is a new project from Cameron Hughes, and we were wildly impressed!
Layered aromas and flavors of ripe blueberry, black raspberry, dark chocolate, and seasoned oak, along with floral notes that turn slightly spicy as the wine opens. structured yet balanced, with juicy blue fruit, tobacco, mineral-laced tannins, and a smooth, rounded mouthfeel.
Cam X checks all the boxes in what we look for in California Cabernet, and everyone is going to enjoy it!
