Wait...... what’s a Meerts?

In traditional Lambic production, the same fruit is often macerated twice. First to create the intense fruit Lambics we know, and then again in a second fermentation to extract what remains.

That second beer, lower in ABV and slightly sparkling, is known as a Meerts (from the old Flemish word for “March beer”).

Tilquin doesn’t make much of these and Imports are tiny. Most shops never even see them.
