Noviello Vineyards & Winery has been on an absolute tear lately, making some of our favorite wines to come out of Washington State. Their wines consistently rank among our favorites and the 2018 'Luigi' is no different!
Widely hailed by many growers as an outstanding vintage, 2018 saw a continuation of warm conditions in much of Washington's premier growing areas. From bud break to fruit set to harvest, everything came together for a vintage of wonderful quality and bountiful quantity.
In true Washington form, this is classically generous yet elegant, with healthy tannins, radiant color, and superb balance. As in the preceding vintages in Washington, 2018 has produced a lot of wine that fans of the region are going to love!
"Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) takes the lead on this wine, followed by Merlot (33%) and Petit Verdot (17%). Oak aromas are out front, with prominent notes of vanilla along with toasty spice, chocolate and cherry. There's a lovely texture to the cherry and barrel flavors that keeps the interest high. The tannins give a gentle squeeze. Fruit and barrel play equal parts." - 91 Points Wine Enthusiast
