The Tenimenti Ricci Estate located in Sant’Angelo is one of the older and more traditional rural establishments in this area of Brunello production. Ferruccio Ricci a
nd his sister Ida, who manage the estate, are deeply rooted in family traditions and Montalcino winemaking, but with a modern and youthful approach. The cellar has been recently restored and equipped with temperature conditioning rooms perfect for vinification and barrel aging. Their vineyards cover about 12 hectares of some of the most sought-after areas of Montalcino. Many of you are familiar with this winery and know just how good these wines are. The 2018 exceeded all of our expectations and is the epitome of balance! Ripe dark fruit flavors lead the charge with the background notes of herbs and stone contributing to the complexity and phenomenal balance.

There is ripe plum and blackberry fruit, but background aromas of toasted spice, grilled herb and crushed stone add more dimension. I rather like those playful accents of dried mint and cherry cola.
