Gard Vintners was founded in 2006 by Josh and Lisa Lawrence. Gård, which means "farm" in most Scandinavian languages, is a tribute to the family's heritage and farming tradition.
Located in the Royal Slope AVA of Washington state, Gård prides themselves on being one of the few Washington state wineries that uses 100% estate fruit!
"The Don" is an absolute thriller of a Cabernet Sauvignon with loads of dark fruit reminiscent of plum, black cherry and blackberry followed by baking spices and savory notes of herbs in the finish. This checks all the boxes in what we look for in Cabernet Sauvignon!
With two massive 92-point scores from Vinous and Wine Spectator, this is a Cab to grab by the case! Pull the trigger now because there isn't much of this vintage left!
"The 2019 The Don bursts from the glass with a heady mix of blackberry preserves, rubbed sage and sweet smoke. It washes across the palate, creamy and dense, with masses of dark fruit and smoky mineral tones, as grippy tannins slowly saturate with each sip. Structured yet lively and incredibly long, the 2019 leaves nuances of bitter cocoa and salted licorice to gradually taper off. This Cabernet heavy Bordeaux blend is a showboat, but it's also beautifully balanced." - 92 Points Eric Guido, Vinous Media
"Polished, with handsome black cherry, tobacco and spice flavors that gather tension and structure toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2029." - 92 Points Wine Spectator
