Grow lemons this summer 🍋

Fri 12:47 AMthesill

Hey there,

Thinking about turning your backyard into your own little produce aisle this summer?

Spring is the ideal time to plant citrus (in containers or in the ground). The soil is warming up, frost risk is fading, and your plants have the whole growing season ahead of them to settle in and thrive. Once nighttime temps are reliably above 45–50°F, it's go time.

A few team favorites for inspiration:

  • Meyer Lemon — One of the easiest citrus trees to grow at home. Sweeter and less acidic than a standard lemon, with fruit that comes in heavy.
  • Australian Finger Lime — Slice one open and tiny citrus pearls burst right out. Thrives in containers, which makes it a great patio pick.
  • Fukushu Kumquat — Eat it whole, skin and all. The sweet rind balances out the tart flesh. It's one of the more cold-tolerant citrus options, too.
New to growing citrus? It's not as hard as it may seem. Get the dirt here or snag a virtual appointment.

Less than two weeks till spring!
