Hey there,

It's Shark Week's final weekend, which naturally made us think of one of our favorite succulents...

Its sculptural, fan-shaped growth resembles a mermaid's tail, a wave, or even a piece of coral. No two "fins" are exactly alike, making every plant one of a kind. Give it plenty of bright light, water sparingly, and it'll happily do its thing.

One fun fact before you dive in (we couldn't help ourselves): The Mermaid Tail Cactus's signature fan-shaped growth comes from a rare natural mutation called cristation. To help preserve that unique shape, the crested top is grafted onto a sturdy rootstock.
