Good Afternoon Sabah People,

Earlier this year, we were introduced to the work of Solem Ceramics, and were particularly captivated by her 'Deep Blue' series.

Solem is the project of Tamara Alissa, a Toronto-based ceramicist whose hand-built works bring together sculptural forms, rich color, and a reverence for traditional pottery. There’s something wonderfully familiar yet unexpected about her pieces - which made us curious to see how she might reimagine a pair of Sabahs.

Now, we get to share the result at Sabah House New York!

On Tuesday, October 13, Tamara will be joining us in NYC to celebrate the arrival of her handmade ceramic Sabah sculptures and the launch of her new 'Deep Blue' series.

Join us for drinks, light bites, and a chance to meet Tamara and experience some of the most unusual “Sabahs” we’ve ever had in store, presented alongside her 'Deep Blue' work.

Raised in Saudi Arabia and Canada by Syrian and Filipino parents, Tamara carries a unique and dynamic cultural perspective. This perspective helps informs the designs she brings into the world, drawing inspiration from the diversity of the Arab world's architecture and ceramic history.
