Hi Sabah People,
Today, we finally introduce our sweet & spicy collab inspired by the markets of Gaziantep, one of Turkey’s greatest epicurean cities and home to the Sabah workshop.
When we first met Louisa Tratalos, founder of London-based stripe studio Colours of Arley, we instantly knew we wanted to make something together.
Louisa started her practice with the belief that stripes can be personal - inspired by travels, found objects, or memories. She’s drawn to unusual color combinations that tell a story.
For this collaboration, we worked with her to translate something deeply personal to us - Gaziantep, the home of our workshop and one of Turkey’s great epicurean cities - into two vibrant striped patterns, custom printed on a soft hair-on leather and interpreted across two styles: a classic Sabah and a Shearling Baba.
With colors pulled directly from Gaziantep’s ancient spice bazaar - the vibrant greens & soft browns of pistachio and rich reds & fiery oranges of Aleppo pepper, sumac and haspir… these are the sweetest & spiciest shoes we’ve ever made 🌶️ Enjoy!
Sincerely, The Sabah Dealer --
