Good Morning Sabah People,
Meet Griffin. You've probably seen him a few times by now on our Instagram, or in this newsletter. He's our wholesale & special projects manager, based out of Sabah HQ in SoHO. Want to carry Sabahs at your store, or make custom pairs for a special event (or company gift)? Send him a note: griffin@sabah.am!
But that's not what this newsletter is about. Rather, Griffin took us on a tour of three places he frequents in the neighborhood wearing, naturally, his new Soho Suede Sabahs.
And those new Sabahs -- a classic black suede that'll never go out of style, an article of leather we found so soft and just so beautiful we couldn't pass it up. Like they have for Griffin, these Sabahs may just become your new go-to's: cool, casual and easy.
And they're are also available in Baba form.
Enjoy!
Sincerely,
The Sabah Dealer

First Stop: Landmark Coffee.
Our office is just a few steps from the longstanding Landmark Coffee, what feels like a bit of a time-capsule, holding on to a bygone era, amongst the ever-changing landscape of SoHo. And that's exactly why I imagine Griffin likes it.
I asked him for a few notes, and here's exactly what he sent me:
"A true SoHo institution. Friendly staff, your guaranteed to be greeted with a smile. Perfect coffee - tastes exactly how it should and your mug is never empty (there's always a fresh pot simmering on a burner, waiting to be poured).
All your diner favorites, done just right. I always get the same thing - a classic "2 eggs anyway" that comes with hash browns, sausage, and plenty of warm, buttered toast.
Great way to start a day of shopping or visiting nearby art galleries."

Midday Break: Iconic Magazines.
I'd say one thing that certainly links those of us at Sabah -- we're analog people. We prefer IRL, tactile experiences to the digital & online. A break means a break from our phones, and screens; inspiration comes from a museum visit, an afternoon at the library, a bike ride.
So it's no wonder Griffin ducks into Iconic Magazines from time-to-time; to browse and pick up an issue to spark a little creativity.
In his own words:
"I am a fan of print. Digital will never quite do it for me the way a printed magazine does; the hand feel, the reading experience, the ads. I love it all.
So when I came across Iconic Magazines - an elite level magazine shop disguised as a bodega - I was hooked.
You name it, they’ve got it. From the latest GQ to an obscure Japanese art magazine, the curators at iconic know what’s what.
I always make a point to stop by at least once a month to grab the latest edition of my favorites and see what new gems I find.
It’s easy since it’s only a five minute walk from our office - the perfect way to top off a lunch break."

As the work day comes to a close at Sabah HQ, and we talk about our evening plans, Griffin is often meeting a friend at Toad Hall for a cold beer and a game of pool. Naturally, he took us there to end his SoHo tour...
In his own words: "I could go on and on about this place! My favorite bar in NYC (not just SoHo).
It's a classic dive; a SoHo locals hang. I love the exposed-brick walls and dark-wood fixtures. There's friendly bartenders, fair prices, and great times.
Will often meet up with friends for some pool here. They have a great table in the back of the bar with a wrap around booth surrounding it. You can count on good competition any night of the week.
It's a great place for happy hour or to post up for the night."
Billy met Griffin for a beer & game... I'll let you guess who won.
A refined, super soft suede article dyed a deep black making this pair timeless, comfortable, and easy to wear with just about anything. Classic, casual and cool, just like SoHo - at least if you know the right places.
