Hi Sabah People,
Mobolaji and I kindly invite you to slip into a pair of our limited edition Mobolaji Dawodu x Sabah Babas.
This collaboration was born from a decade of friendship, taking inspiration from a true shared spirit, Mobolaji's sense of style, and our common appreciation for global craft. We traveled from New York City to the deserts of New Mexico to bring it to life, and now... it's available to you.
Sophisticated, yet relaxed -- these Italian Suede Babas with skillfully embroidered dots that reveal a triangle motif are meant for a global getaway. Dress them up for the party, then wear them all over town the day after.

With only 310 pairs made in total across all three colorways, it won't be long until every pair exits our workshop and is bound for the traveling lifestyle they were meant to live.
Speaking of... we traveled to a place where the deserts miss the rain, and fueled by delicious tacos, a splash of reposado, and 90's dance tracks, we trekked out into the dunes to commemorate this special collection on film.
Mobolaji wore a jacket he had made in India that inspired the pattern -- and that's part of his own clothing line to be debuted this weekend at Sabah House New York.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We hope you love these Babas as much as we do, and hope to see you Thursday to celebrate -- see the end of this newsletter for details.
Until then...
Sincerely, Mickey & Mobolaji --

Each pair was made at the Sabah Workshop in El Paso, Texas. We embroidered small dots to reveal a larger triangle motif onto a luxurious Italian suede. The design pulls from Mobolaji's collection of apparel pieces, designed himself and made in India, which will be debuting alongside these Babas at Sabah House New York.
PLEASE NOTE: Some Orders May Ship Early Next Week.

Mobolaji and I first met a decade ago in the original Sabah House East Village, our first “store” — the place that made Sabah, Sabah. He came to pick up a pair of shoes for a cover he was styling - at that time he was the Fashion Director of GQ Style. I was pretty excited at the chance to meet him, and potentially be in GQ. Moreover, Mobolaji became a true friend of Sabah … wearing Babas all over the world. He’s a traveler, like me, through and through.

So it was pretty special, all those years and Babas (he only wears Babas) later, to travel to our workshop in El Paso with him a couple weeks ago to finalize production of our collaboration. One that came from an honest, creative energy and, naturally, in Baba form.

These Babas are made from 100% Italian Suede uppers, then finely embroidered locally in El Paso. A small dot pattern reveals itself into a larger motif of triangles -- taking direct inspiration from several pieces in Mobolaji's collection.
As part of our Collector's Series - each pair is numbered ## of 310 and given a month & year stamp too, emphasizing the limited nature of the production.

Thank you all for joining us on this rather fun journey!

Join us Thursday to celebrate -- a party that reflects some things we love (and enjoyed) along the way. We'll also be showing Mobolaji's new label - a curation of clothing, designed by Mobolaji & made in India. It's going to be a good one; RSVP: thedealer@sabah.am.
