Out To Lunch 🌮☀️🚲

Aug 11, 2026, 5:31 PM•sabah

Hi Sabah People,

Last Wednesday, on a perfect New York summer day, the Sabah HQ team took a short & delicious field trip for lunch at one of our favorite East Village eateries: Carnitas Ramirez.

A quick bike ride from the office, it was the perfect midday outing to break up the workday and get a little energy & inspiration for a creative afternoon.

Scroll on to come along. Buen Provecho!

Sincerely,

The Sabah Dealer

An Afternoon with the Team.

We feel fortunate at Sabah HQ to have a Citi Bike station right outside our office -- the easiest (and most fun) way to cover a lot of ground. So we each grabbed one and headed to East 3rd Street.

When we pulled up to Carnitas Ramirez, we were lucky there wasn't a line...

Carnitas Ramirez specializes in carnitas (hence the name), serving nearly every part of the pig — and doing so exceptionally well. Tender, flavorful, unfussy, and absolutely worth the bike ride... we ordered a few of each kind.

They operate like an old-school taqueria you’d find in Mexico: no frills, just delicious food. Nixtamalized corn tortillas come topped with your choice of meat. Simple. Then you add your own toppings: onions (pickled, fresh, or both), fresh cilantro, and salsa.

And let’s not fail to mention the vibe. You slurp down delicious tacos while sitting on milk crates along the front window (hopefully open because the weather is nice), washing it all down with an ice-cold Topo Chico or Mexican Coca-Cola.

It’s perfectly simple, completely unfussy, and so damn good.

From there, we took a stroll through Tompkins Square Park to digest and extend our afternoon a bit. Izzy and Fernanda were both wearing their Babets -- biking in them, walking in them, generally putting them to good use. We got a few snaps.

What started as “What's for lunch?” turned into a very good New York afternoon: bikes, tacos, a long walk, a few photos, and no real agenda. Which, come to think of it, is exactly the kind of day we make our shoes for.
