Our next spotlight shines on Jisu Tae of Nutty FC in Seoul, South Korea 🇰🇷
In this companion piece to the segment we ran in The RE—CAP Show on 6/4, go deeper with Jisu on all things community, football culture, and Nutty FC.
⚽ What is core to your community?
The core of our community is 'connection and creation through football.' Beyond just playing the game, we prioritize creating a new football culture that everyone can enjoy through our content and events, and ultimately lowering the barriers for women.
🏙️ How would you describe football culture in your city?
Do you remember the 2002 World Cup? Ever since the Korean national team made it to the semi-finals, there are still so many people in Korea who can’t forget the passion and excitement we felt back then. In a country like that, how could football not be loved? We are drawn to the passion and effort of sweating it out on the pitch, the teamwork with players, and the joy of achieving something together.
✨What is your team most proud of?
Since Nutty FC is an amateur club, we have an incredibly diverse group of people within the team. Our members range from their 20s to 40s, with backgrounds including college students, office workers, teachers, video directors, editors, housewives, UX designers, civil servants, and soldiers. In everyday society, people from such vastly different walks of life might never cross paths to achieve something together. Yet, it’s truly amazing and joyful to see us unite and move forward, sharing the same dream through football. Everyone has a busy life, but no one falls behind in their passion for the game. All this diversity blends into a melting pot we call 'NuttyFC,' creating a football culture entirely our own. This is why I love Nutty FC so much.
