We’ve been saying it: Pride is a Protest AND a Party. And more recently, I’m seeing how important it is for Pride to be an action. It is love, protest, celebration, and revolution in action.
So what does my Pride Party Protest in action look like, you ask? Sometimes it’s marching in the streets. Sometimes it’s sharing a little about my love. And most days, it’s coming home to The Bungalow (my home), The Bob (my dog), and The Bae (my wife)... I actually don’t call her that but can’t resist a good alliteration!
My Pride Party Protest in action looks like coming home and marveling at the pure magic of loving and being loved. At the audacity of making dinner at home in my jammies and feeling beautiful. At the unfamiliarity of looking at a dog that has no idea her Mommies play soccer, and love them for just loving her. At this new desire I have to be ordinary. Ordinary, gay, and in love. Perhaps that should be my new mantra… 🤣
It is in these moments, I feel more proud than ever. We need more pride, just like we need more joy, strength, and radical love for the queer community. This summer, we will celebrate every whimsical, revolutionary part of the queer community. All of us, the beautiful pieces, will come together. United with pride, for Pride.
Today doesn’t just mark the start of our new reimagined sports newsletter, The RE—SET, or an exciting collaboration with the NWSL on our Mosaic Pride tees. It marks the beginning of a month for so many of us to celebrate and honor who we are. To celebrate and honor our pride.
We have some amazing things ahead, Reimaginers. I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you all. In fact, I might even say I am more proud than ever 🤍
