Island Milk and Souk Honey. Our most loveable layers and the one I bathe myself in on a sleepy Sunday. Island Milk makes a beautiful base: cashew milk, cinnamon and brown sugar, with whipped musk, sandalwood and tonka underneath. I follow with Souk Honey. But I will say, as the weather transitions I give myself a beat to soak in the milky warmth first. Souk Honey brightens the combination almost immediately with neroli (is anyone else obsessed with neroli?) and orange blossom. The two share cardamom and sandalwood, and here is where they start to recognize each other.
Now it gets interesting...manuka honey and condensed milk make for a remarkably warm and dynamic scent that I can only describe as creamed spiced honey. I’ll admit, I’ve never been an overtly gourmand lover, but this? This is warm, delightful, familiar, and interesting at once. I can get behind that.
