The fall harvest season is fully underway. That means we're rushing to rescue the billions of pounds of uneaten, fresh surplus fall foods and get them to neighbors without enough to fill their tables. As the government shutdown reaches the three-week mark, more individuals and families—some for the first time—are facing uncertainty about how they will put food on the table. Feeding America partner food banks across the country are working tirelessly to respond to these emerging needs, and we are grateful for everyone's efforts to support communities during this time. We remain committed to ensuring people receive the food and resources they need. As the government shutdown continues to unfold, the food bank network is coordinating closely to maintain essential services and respond to emerging challenges.
