Before it was The Mug, it was just a lump of clay. We released The Mug you know today in 2019.  After years of tweaks and tests—sips taken,  handles adjusted, hundreds of prototypes made  and remade—we landed on a form with just the right proportions. The kind of hand-feel  that makes you go “ahhh.” Since then, it’s become the piece we’re most known for and the gold standard for East Fork design.

From raw clay to finished pot, The Mug  goes through more steps—and more hands— than anything else we make. It’s pugged, pressed, trimmed and assembled.  Dried slow, bisqued hot, glazed and fired again. It's  a labor-intensive form, and it shows—in the balance, the heft, the way it fits just right in your grip. A lot of care went into making this Mug.  We hope you can feel it.
