Behind John Vigeland’s Espresso Cup - John and Alex first met as potter’s apprentices and later co-founded East Fork in 2013. After many years as CFO, John stepped away from day-to-day operations in 2024 to get back behind the wheel. The Espresso Cup challenged him to focus in on the smaller details, a more intricate design than a standard sized mug.

“One of the virtues of throwing multiples on the wheel like these Espresso Cups is the refinement of subtle details you didn’t notice in the prototyping phase. More resolution in the curves, a calligraphic quality with every pulled handle, weight at the base to keep the cup steady  with a narrow footprint.” John V., Co-founder and Workshop Director
