I wrote my cookbook Riviera inspired by my grandmother's kitchen. She never measured or rushed, and, in her kitchen, there was always something waiting to be shared. I learned to cook and to host, and to love both, by watching her.
I took a few photos of it so you could see it for yourself: her notes in the margins, the oil stains, the pages softened from years of use.
For years, people have asked me what food pairs best with Ghia, and the answer has always been the recipes I grew up with. The food actually came before the drink.
Riviera is my way of sharing them, and it finally is out in the world.
Most recipes require fewer than 10 ingredients, and all are inspired by the flavors and abundance of summer.
