Hi there, Mélanie here, Founder + CEO of Ghia. This month, I finally had a moment to rest and relax from what is proving to be one of the busiest summers of my life. Despite a case of food poisoning (don't ask, too soon), I am feeling the joy that comes along with the height of summer. Here's what's been going on in my world, lately. A stay at Palazzo Avino with my love was just what the doctor ordered. It’s like the sea is your own personal swimming pool - so amazing! I went to a tomato festival in Italy (AKA my dream) while I was in Ravello, and it had me missing this tomato tart recipe I made for my team a while back. There is also a version of it with fennel in my cookbook. Petition to have a tomato festival in New York soon? We shared an email recently about how our Lime & Salt Le Spritz is the perfect alternative for a margarita, and judging by the replies, you agree. Cheers to that! I am reading: A Natural History of the Senses, Unbending (audiobook), and Margo’s Got Money Troubles. They all could not be more different, but I am enjoying all 3! This bandana from Chan Luu has been my go-to headscarf when the heat and my hair are at odds. This is a family brand I love to support - the founder Tessa took over from her aunt and has been working on it for 10+ years and the pieces are so fun. I visited my parents in the South of France, and spent the weekends on little excursions: the Harry Gruyaert photo exhibit at the Arles Photo Festival started a rabbit hole about the photographer and I ended up ordering his new book, Rivages, to my coffee table book collection. On another day, I hiked 1h45 down from cassis to the Calanque D’en Veau (and back up!) but it was so worth it, the view and swim simply took my breath away.
Talk soon. x Mélanie
